The Company

Fiserv, Inc. (FI) is a financial technology company that runs much of the unseen infrastructure which banks, credit unions, and merchants rely on to move money.

It does not take deposits or make loans like a traditional bank.

Instead, Fiserv provides the technology that makes transactions happen quickly and securely. When you use an ATM, pay with your card at a restaurant, or transfer money on a mobile banking app, Fiserv’s systems are often working in the background to make everything run smoothly. Most of its business is in North America, which represents around 85 percent of revenue, but its services reach customers all over the world.

Most people use Fiserv’s services daily without realizing it. Its technology powers bank apps, card transactions, ATMs, and payment networks like STAR, Accel, and MoneyPass. When you pay with a card, transfer money, or withdraw cash, Fiserv’s systems process and secure the transaction behind the scenes.

The company makes money in two major categories: Processing and Services, which is about 81 percent of revenue, and Product, which is about 19 percent.
